Tiny dog battles rattleshake to save baby
by Gulliver
One of the world's smallest dogs showed he was big on courage
when he took on a rattlesnake and saved a baby from its deadly
bite.
Zoey the pet Chihuahua sprang into action when a rattler threatened
one-year-old Booker West as he was playing in a birdbath at
his home in Colerado.
The serpent slithered up to the child and lunged at him, terrifying
him.
Sensing the danger, Zoey came to the rescue and jumped between
the snake and the baby, allowing Booker to escape unharmed.
Unfortunately brave Zoey was bitten in the process and the
boy's grandfather Monty Long, alerted by the dog's yelps,
came to the rescue.
The dog was rushed to a vet and for a time it was thought
he might not survive.
But the story had a happy ending for the brave Zoey as well
as the baby when the animal pulled through and is now running
around.
